Create a Gift Registry Black Pine is an "affiliate" of a great Gift Registry website that you can use to share Christmas lists and other gift ideas with family and friends. If you have ever wanted to make a contribution to Black Pine but could not afford to yourself, then the gift registry may be for you! You can create a gift list and indicate to friends and family that in lieu of a gift, you'd like them to make a contribution to Black Pine. The service is professional, and free! The MyGiftList Gift Registry offers a full range of services that simplify the gift giving process. You can create FREE private or public gift registries where you can save gift wishes for Christmas, Valentine's Day, birthdays, weddings, anniversaries, and other gift giving occasions. Friends and family can then check out your registries online 24 hours a day. The website can remind you of birthdays and anniversaries and even help stop you us from giving the same gift to someone. Click here to create a gift registry so you can tell others that you would like them to make a donation to Black Pine in your name! The advantages of setting up a Gift Registry are: 1. It is free! 2. It reduces your chance of getting the SAME Gift! The people who you let see your registry can check off gifts that they have purchased for you, thus letting other gift givers know not to buy the SAME gift. And the system doesn't let you peek at what they have bought! 3. You can create gift registries for different groups of people: - Significant Others - Family - Friends - Relatives - Business Associates - Other 4. It is private. You control who sees your Gift Registry. 5. You can store web links with your gifts so friends and family know exactly where to find your gifts. 6. You can keep a history of who bought what gift for you. 7. Any gifts that come from Black Pine help benefit the animals!! Recycle Old Cell Phones Black Pine will receive cash
for cell phones that are recycled through our fundraising partner,
WirelessFundraiser.com. You can follow the link by clicking on the
button above to ship your cell phone(s), or drop off individual cell
phones at the sanctuary and we'll ship them in for you. Or, you or your
classroom, civic organization, co-workers, or other group can run a cell
phone collection drive and raise money for the sanctuary. We'll provide
free posters, collection boxes, and shipping

Material Donations
Black Pine routinely is engaged in new construction and maintenance projects. Building materials such as wood, metal siding and roofing, corn-crib material, fencing, and the like are welcomed donations. Please contact the sanctuary prior to making any deliveries to ensure the materials available will be put to good use and not be wasted, as well as to make certain there is storage room available to help us maintain a safe and attractive environment on the grounds.
Ink Cartridge Recycling Program
Black
Pine is collecting used/empty inkjet and laser cartridges! Each
cartridge you donate (that is in good condition) will be recycled to help
feed
All common desktop printer cartridges and many popular brands of laser printer cartridges are accepted (but no copier toner cartridges, please.) Drop off your cartridges at our office. Call 260-636-7383 to set a time for drop-off.
Sponsoring a habitat helps to ensure animals are housed comfortably, safely, and in an enriching environment! Your sponsorship will be recognized with signage. Please call the office at (260) 636-7383 for details!
Feed & Entertain the Animals!
Food is always welcomed! In addition to items listed on our "wish list", Black Pine also accepts frozen meat (venison, beef, poultry, pork) so long as it has remained well-wrapped, is not freezer burned or otherwise dried out, is no more than 3 years old, and is not cooked, smoked, or seasoned.
In addition Black Pine utilizes whitetail deer carcasses for feed for the cats. Though the sanctuary is often notified by dispatchers of deer available for pickup following vehicular accidents, private citizens are also encouraged to call if they witness a deer carcass that appears to be intact and has not been deceased for more than 8-10 hours. Carcasses that have suffered severe damage or begun to decay are not suitable for feed and will not be picked up or accepted at Black Pine. Hunters who, for one reason or another, have carcasses or cuts of meat (not bones) that will not be used for human consumption are also invited to donate for the animals. Black Pine staff may be reached by phone, or voicemail, at (260) 636-7383 at any time, including nights and weekends. Any messages left regarding deer should include a specific physical address and general driving directions to help locate the animal. Black Pine will consider picking up carcasses within a radius of about 20 miles from the sanctuary. Deliveries of carcasses are also accepted and appreciated. Call the sanctuary for more information. Our never-ending list of ideas for animal enrichment projects provides you the chance to play a part in making the animals lives fulfilling and fun! Many of the enrichment items may be purchased at www.sanctuarysupplies.com. We have a wish list there, but the following are items we would especially love to have for our residents:
Please call 260-636-7383 to arrange a drop-off time for your donations, or bring them during our regularly scheduled 'open' hours. We also are always in need of various tools to keep up with cleaning chores and habitat maintenance. Donations of the following are much appreciated. Follow the links for photo examples:
We also hope to enhance the environment for our visitors, and are in need of the following materials:
Black Pine recognizes the talents and expertise of many of our patrons and members of our nearby communities. If you are interested in in volunteering we have opportunities that may include animal husbandry, maintenance, construction projects, fundraising, and more. Click here to learn more and/or apply!
Advertising Donations
Unlike many municipally-funded zoos, Black Pine does not benefit from a large annual advertising budget. If you are associated with a form of media that can offer advertising space - we are interested. Please contact us via phone and let us know what you have to offer.
Equal Dollar Trades
If full-value donations of materials, labor, or advertising are not feasible, Black Pine is quite receptive to consideration of equal-dollar trades. We can offer, for the value of your donation, free admissions, private party planning, and perhaps other services for your consideration. We welcome creative thought in this area and your interest in support of our efforts.
Park Pal Memberships
For those who enjoy visiting Black Pine Animal Sanctuary more than a couple of times each summer, our Park Pal Memberships offer free admission for one full year, 10% off gift shop purchases, a subscription to e-Bulletins, direct mail updates and offers, and a membership card. Membership purchases are tax deductible! We value our Park Pal Members as some of our biggest supporters and welcome them to our growing member family. Purchase or renew securely online now! During our Relocation Project there are a variety of opportunities to sponsor habitats or other facets of building the new sanctuary. For information call the office at (260) 636-7383.
Adopt-An-Animal
Though you won't have to feed, clean up after, or house the animals yourself, becoming an adoptive parent of a Black Pine resident shows you care! We offer a choice of adopting individual favorite animals, or your whole classroom or group can adopt together! Each adoption includes a biography and picture, as well as official adoption certificate and a free admission pass. All proceeds directly fund animal care at Black Pine Animal Sanctuary. Stop by the gift shop at the sanctuary or email us to discuss the options. For classroom adoption kits, see our education page! |
