Part-Time Animal Keeper  (2/27/09)

Black Pine's Board of Directors is now seeking applicants for a part-time back-up animal keeper.  This position will begin on or around April 15, 2009.  The part-time animal keeper will work under the supervision of the Executive Director (also lead keeper) to manage and carry out the animal husbandry program as the Director's "back up" on days off.  The position will require a minimum of 20 hours per week, paid hourly.  Schedule of work days to be determined, but will be a "set" schedule that may include weekends or holidays.

 

Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

- cleaning habitats

- watering, feeding, and medicating animals

- supervising and training volunteers and interns

- housekeeping

- inventory control

- light office / reception work

- customer relations

 

Work days are from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.  Some occasional overtime may also be required.  To apply, mail resume with references to:
