November 2009 Dear Friends, Our 2009-2010 Holiday Giving Guide is here! Push for Paws is a voluntary contribution campaign emphasizing that "We couldn't do what we do without you!" Our goal is to raise $40,000 to bridge the gap between current levels of "normal" income and annual expenses. Our second annual campaign will help keep the doors open and sanctuary moving forward. Two challenges for 2010 include: a desire to increase a part-time keeper position to full-time, enabling our executive director to focus more time on administrative and fundraising activities; and generating enough funding to continue rebuilding permanent animal habitats. At this time the sanctuary still needs permanent accommodations for a black bear and male lion, a dedicated year-round facility for caged birds, an outdoor habitat for an alligator, and an enclosed building to house a gift shop and more offices. Black Pine Animal Park is proud to be one of the nation's finest exotic animal sanctuaries offering uniquely entertaining and informative educational programs to people of all ages that encourage responsible pet ownership and the conservation and preservation of animals and their natural habitats. Unrestricted gifts, foundation grants, and corporate contributions are always appreciated! Push for Paws is a strategy that works to provide a larger, long-term community of support for displaced exotic pets and retired performers and a more informed general public who can help curb the growth of the exotic pet trade and damage to wild animal populations.
